Project name: Implementation of a sewage network in Sokhna camp
Project justification:
- Sokhna camp which is located in Zarqa Governorate, is not served by a sewage network and the wastewater is discharged through cesspits
- The presence of more than one cesspit under some houses it became a serious danger to some houses and their residents
- The land soil of the camp has become saturated with water Sanitary drainage
- The foundations of some very old houses that was built since the camp was established in 1969 may be affected
- The high financial cost for the camp’s residents resulting from periodically draining these cesspits increases the financial burden on them
- the need for this project is urgent in order to preserve the safety of the residents the camp
Project elements:
- Implementation of sewage networks with an approximate length of 85 km
- Implementation of transmission lines with an approximate length of 17 km
- Create a lifting station within the Sanitation Program: NEXUS
